South Florida rapper Gorilla Zoe was arrested for allegedly trying to bring a loaded handgun on a plane at Miami International Airport, reports say.
Gorilla Zoe was taken into custody on Monday night after a TSA officer reportedly told security that he had a loaded .38 caliber gun in his carry-on bag during a checkpoint search.
The rapper was charged with one count of carrying a concealed firearm, and according to NBC 6, he had a suspended concealed carry license.
Following his arrest, Zoe was booked at the Miami-Dade jail. He was released early Tuesday morning after posting his $500 bond. If convicted, the rap star could be forced to fork out up to a $5,000 fine and can also be given some time behind bars for his trouble.
Zoe is best known for being a member of the rap group Boyz N Da Hood. His solo debut album Welcome to the Zoo came out in 2007. His next two albums, Don’t Feed Da Animals and King Kong, were released in 2009 and 2011. He has remained an independent artist since 2018.
