Comedian Mo’Nique is working hard to prove her case against Oprah Winfrey, accusing her not only of demeaning Black men but of making the Black women invisible.
Mo’Nique shared a clip of an old interview with Toni Braxton, where she spoke about Winfrey being “mean” to her when after she was forced to file for bankruptcy.
“IF YOU THINK @oprah ONLY DEMEANS BLACK MEN IT’S BECAUSE THE BLACK WOMEN HAS BEEN MADE VIRTUALLY INVISIBLE!!! SEE FOR YOURSELF WITH OUR SISTER TONI B. IN CASE YOU FORGOT OR NEVER KNEW!!! LOVE US 2 LIFE!” she captioned the clip.
In the clip, Toni says the following:
“She was so frickin’ mean to me. I was in shock… I couldn’t believe it ’cause I loved her so much. I admired her and looked up to her and she pretty much reprimanded me,” Toni said back in 2012.
“Immediately, she made me feel this big,” she continued. “That moment completely changed my career. It made people look down on me.”
