Real Housewives of Atlanta producers are reportedly “desperate” to keep Nene Leakes after reports swirled online about Nene wanting to quit the show.
The reports may well have earned Nene another hefty pay rise, as producers are scrambling to keep her on the popular franchise.
“Show execs do not want NeNe to leave,” an insider told Radar Online. “NeNe is the driving factor in ratings. Her big blowout in Canada was the first episode to hit over two million for the season.”
The source added, “The network does not want to let her go because it is her drama that everyone tunes in for.”
But according to the entertainment outlet, there may be another reason that Nene will not be walking away from the Bravo show – she is locked into a three-year $2.85 million contract.
So unless Nene wants to owe the network millions of dollars, she’s bound to the show for the foreseeable future.
