MMA fighter Conor McGregor shocked many of his fans after he hopped on Twitter to praise President Donald Trump, calling him a “phenomenal president.”
On Monday, Trump posted yet another not entirely factual Tweet:
“It was exactly three years ago today, January 20, 2017, that I was sworn into office. So appropriate that today is also MLK jr DAY. African-American Unemployment is the LOWEST in the history of our Country, by far. Also, best Poverty, Youth, and Employment numbers, ever. Great!”
But the unemployment figures began to drop while Obama was still in office, but Trump will not give his predecessor credit under any circumstances… instead he will try to co-opt his accomplishments at every turn and claim them as his own.
McGregor then replied to the tweet:
“Phenomenal President. Quite possibly the USA 🐐. Most certainly one of them anyway, as he sits atop the shoulders of many amazing giants that came before him. No easy feet. Early stages of term also. Incredible. Congrats and Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day,” much to the horror of his supporters.
Here are a few reactions to the tweet:
