Empire star Taraji P. Henson paid a visit to T.I.’s podcast, Expeditiously, where she addressed 50 Cent’s public jabs to the Empire show, seeing them as the competition for his popular show, Power.
“Our show has nothing to do with his show, we’re talking two different subject matters. Does he understand what I did to get here? Why tear down another black person for competition? There are a million other shows he can compete with? And to do that publically, it’s embarrassing,” she told T.I.
50 has taken several shots at the show, including accusing Empire of copying Power’s marketing strategy.
“POWER Season 2 is unbelievably good trust me. I have the best writers and show runner. I like Terrence Howard and Taraji Henson. I don’t like that they would copy the marketing,” 50 wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.
Empire is getting ready to close it’s curtains as the sixth season will be the show’s last.
