NY Rapper Pop Smoke Starts Beef w/ Casanova – Calls Him ‘Trashanova’!!

There’s some real beef brewing among New York’s hottest hip hop artists.

Newcomer Pop Smoke is firing shots at veteran artist Casanova. Both rappers are from Brooklyn, and both are known for getting busy in the streets.

So this beef could get messy.

It started yesterday, when Pop Smoke released his new song. In the post he called Casanova – “Trashanova.” He then says that all the “old n*ggas should pack it up.’

So far Casanova has not responded:

Pop Smoke, real name, is a rapper and songwriter. He blew up n April 2019 when he released the song “Welcome to the Party”, the lead single of his debut mixtape Meet the Woo (2019) released in July 2019.

 “Welcome to the Party” was made into two remixes featuring Nicki Minaj and Skepta in August 2019. In October 2019 he featured American rapper Lil Tjay on his single “War”. In December 2019 he collaborated with American rapper Travis Scott on the song, “Gatti” from Scott and his Cactus Jack members’ compilation album, JackBoys (2019).

Back in October, The NYPD requested that 22GZ, Casanova, Pop Smoke, Sheff G and Don Q be removed from the lineup of New York City’s Rolling Loud festival at Citi Field, a representative for the festival confirmed to The FADER.

A letter from the NYPD to Rolling Loud, acquired by The FADER, asks that the five rappers be removed “due to public safety concerns.” The letter, dated October 9, states that “[The rappers] have been affiliated with recent acts of violence citywide,” and that the NYPD believes their presence will lead to “a higher risk of violence.” The full letter, signed by NYPD Assistant Chief Martin Morales.
