The car that legendary rapper and actor Tupac Shakur was murdered in – is being auctioned for $1.75 million in Las Vegas, United States. Tupac was shot and killed as he drove in the luxury vehicle down the Las Vegas strip in 1996. He was killed after watching a Mike Tyson fight at a casino.

On the night of Tupac’s murder, his assassins pulled up to the car which was being driven by Tupac’s friend, Death Row CEO Suge Knight. According to reports, Tupac was shot approximately four times with a Glock 22 pistol. He was shot twice in the chest, once in the arm and once in the chest. He was taken to the hospital after the shooting and died 6 days later from his injuries. He was 25 at the time of his death.
Suge Knight, who was in the driver’s seat of the car survived the shooting but is currently in prison for voluntary manslaughter after running a man over in 2015.
Shakur is one of the best-selling music artists of all time having sold over 75 million records worldwide. In 2002, he was inducted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility. Rolling Stone named Shakur in its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. Outside music, Shakur also gained considerable success as an actor, with his starring roles as Bishop in Juice (1992), Lucky in Poetic Justice (1993) where he starred alongside Janet Jackson, Ezekiel in Gridlock’d (1997), and Jake in Gang Related (1997), all garnering praise from critics.
