Danielle Brooks, the actress best known for playing Taystee in Netflix series Orange Is The New Black, announced on New Year’s Eve that she has got engaged to Dennis Gelin.
The actress shared both a photo and a video to Instagram of her dancing with her man with her new ring on full display.
“I never thought one of the best days of my year would happen the last week of the year. I get to marry my best friend. So excited to become your wife. D&D until the end,” she wrote.
Broks gave birth to their daughter in November and shared her pregnancy with her fans.
“This moment is sacred. 👑 This moment is about birth and RE-birth,” she wrote alongside. “👑This moment is discovering new parts of myself that I never knew existed before. 👑 This moment is about gaining clarity on what I will or will not except so that when my daughter watches me, she is clear on who she is and what she believes,” she captioned a post of her growing baby bump in September.
“👑 This moment is understanding what’s worth my energy and what is not. 👑 This moment is unapologetically leaning on those that truly understand the definition of family and friendship.👑 This moment is about experiencing all that life has to offer me as a woman. I’m living and basking in the right now! And it feels damn good.”
