“The Bachelorette” alum Dean Michael Unglert is spending Christmas in an unexpected place… a hospital.
On Monday, Unglert revealed that he had to be airlifted from the Swiss Alps to a hospital, where he underwent surgery for a dislocated hip and fractured femur.
Along with a pic from his hospital bed, Dean wrote, “all my life i’ve dreamt about skiing the swiss alps. how could you not? they’re huge and beautiful and have some of the best snow in the world. today, however, was not my day. i was sending just a liiiiitle too hard and took a nasty spill which ultimately put me here. and since this is probably going to be the only pic i get in switzerland, i figured i gotta post it.”
Dean shared that it took “an hour” to get help, adding that the surgery took less than an hour.
Unglert also posted Instagram Stories of himself before he was airlifted. In one, he captioned, “I quickly realized my leg wasn’t good enough to be skied on… laid here for an hour before someone finally skied by.”
He revealed that “3 screws and a plate” were put into his leg.
It doesn’t look like Dean’s girlfriend Caelynn Miller-Keyes is in Switzerland with him. She posted a pic on her Instagram Story, saying, “I want to squeeze you so bad.”
After hearing the news, Bachelor Nation stars Jared Haibon, Peer Krauswi and Adam Gottschalk sent their well-wishes. Jared wrote, “Oh no!! Hope you’re doing okay buddy! That’s terrible.”
Peter added, “Good lord man! Praying for a fast recovery for you! Rest easy.”
