The tradition of shoemaking in northern Italy is the soul of the shoe; the talent is visible in every single stitch through the leather, and thus, the Gommino is made to withstand the test of time. In today’s outfit, I wore a light brown version of the shoe with the pair of tan socks. I call this out first, because the Gommino is often considered a summer-shoe, but with this simple styling trick, you can make it more season-appropriate. The raw denim jeans are a classic choice that is still casual enough for your average Friday while adding some contrast to the outfit. To pick up the color of the shoes and socks, I chose to wear a cream-colored turtleneck and a tan Mac coat. As a finishing touch, I wore a pair of tortoise frame glasses for a more sophisticated look. Overall, despite it being December, you noticed the lighter color scheme, which evokes feelings of warmer temperatures.
So, while you might not catch the next plane to Italy, just remember that the holidays are around the corner, and maybe these Tod’s give you (or a loved one, after all, Christmas is almost here) a little mental vacation to help get you there.
