It’s not every day you receive an invitation for a Playboy dinner at Art Basel, hosted by the Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Jerry Saltz and the esteemed artist Marilyn Minter. I took the opportunity to wear out the most elaborate dress for the occasion — a liquid metal gown from Paco Rabanne designed by Julien Dossena.
The gown is composed of thousands of silver-plated links, unlined, which cascades and is perhaps the most beautiful work of art I’ve had the fortune of wearing, and the closest I’ll ever resemble a disco ball.
