Manhattan prosecutors have dropped their case against rapper Remy Ma.
Remy faced assault and other related charges after her Love & Hip Hop: New York co-stary Brittney Taylor accused her of punching her VH-1 at a benefit concert at Irving Plaza back in April.
Prosecutors cited conflicting evidence in the case and accounts of the night’s events provided by witnesses not linked to wither Remy or Brittney.
“After a thorough, months-long investigation, the people are moving to dismiss this case,” said Assistant District Attorney Juan Maldonado. “We cannot prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Remy was obviously pleased with the result but wished that this had all been wrapped up sooner.
“I wish they would have come to this conclusion before I had an ankle bracelet and lost months and months of wages and had a curfew,” she told reporters outside of the court. “Before I paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a lawyer.”
