Former Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter is claiming that the controversial n-word saga which forced him to leave his company was all fabricated.
Schnatter says they just wanted to get their claws into his company, alleging board members “stole the company, and now they’ve destroyed the company.”
“The day of reckoning will come,” Schnatter said to WDRB. “I never dreamed that the people that I cared about, that I loved, that I made multimillionaires, would do what they did.”
Schnatter received backlash, and customers boycotted the pizza chain after it was alleged that he used the n-word during a conference call to staff.
“Shame on them. This is all a farce. Nothing sells like the truth, and the truth, sooner or later, all comes out,” telling the news outlet that the new CEO and the board of directors “all used the Black community and race as a way to steal the company.”
He says the brand has suffered since his departure. “If the management team was out, and I went back in, they’d be cheering. They’d be going backflips. They’d be bouncing off the wall.”
