First Lady Melania Trump received the full Trump treatment as booed by a large group of children when she was introduced to give a speech at the B’More Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness in Baltimore, Maryland.
“We are here today to raise awareness of the opioid epidemic in our country and to educate young lives on how to live a drug-free life,” Melania told the audience. “Addiction and drug abuse are universal issues; they do not discriminate based on income, age, race, or where you live.”
According to several reports, there were more than 2,500 middle and high school students, and they were not happy about her attendance at the event, which was hosted by the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation.
“I cannot recall another event where she was more negatively received. I believe it is also the first loud booing by an audience at a solo event with Mrs. Trump,” CNN’s Kate Bennett, said per the Daily Beast.
Did Melania deserve the boos?
