Mendeecees Harris, star of the reality show Love & Hip Hop NY (and husband to Yandy Smith) will be released from prison THIS WEEK, and he’s expected to be home for Thanksgiving, MTO News has confirmed.
We spoke with two producers from Love & Hip Hop New York, and they confirmed that the crew is set to film Mendecees’ release from Fairton Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey THIS WEEK.
One producer told MTO News, “He’ll be home for Thanksgiving.”
Cameras will be present, as Mendecees walks out of custody, and into the arms of his wife Yandy.
But Mendeecees is not completely out of woods yet. The reality star will not be “completely” free. MTO News learned that he will have to live in a halfway house for the next year or so.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons website now has Mendeecees’ release date at October 14, 2020. Technically, that’s when he’ll be released from the halfway house. That’s great news, because Mendeecees was initially scheduled to be released in early 2022.
Mendeecees turned himself in on drug charges in January of 2016, and plead guilty to avoid trial.
Since then, a lot has changed with his family. His wife Yandy opened her hime to foster daughter Infinity, and is in the process of formally adopting the teenager. And their two children, Omere and Skylar, are now 3 years older than when he left.
