Andy Cohen Hoped Teresa Giudice Had Cheated on Joe, Melissa Gorga Weighs In

Andy Cohen “kinda hoped” Teresa Giudice had cheated on Joe Giudice while the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star’s husband was incarcerated.

The Bravo boss made the comment in passing, but made it nonetheless, on Wednesday’s episode of “Watch What Happens Live” after asking guests Melissa Gorga and Leslie Grossman if they thought Teresa and Joe had been unfaithful during their marriage.

Giving Andy a look of surprise that she would be posed with such a question, Melissa was the first to respond. “I say no,” she said. When Andy asked again, she had the same answer and provided no further details.

Leslie, on the other hand, had way more to say. “I’m sure that Joe has cheated on Teresa, and I hope Teresa has cheated on Joe.”

“I don’t, I mean, I was kinda,” Andy stuttered. “When those rumors came out, I was kinda saying, ‘I hope Teresa’s with this guy!'” Leslie added, “The woman deserves happiness! Let her have some fun, my God!”

Andy then asked the ladies what they thought about “Joe and Teresa: Unlocked.”

“I mean, I thought they looked uncomfortable, to say the least,” Melissa said of the couple’s first joint interview since Joe’s release from prison and ICE custody. “There was a little awkwardness there, but I do think it’s super hard to speak to your husband for the first time over a teleprompter and on TV like that. I just think you can tell they haven’t seen each other in a while.”

Leslie said she “thought he’d be a little more contrite,” and Andy agreed. “I did, too!” he noted.

“He just seemed like, ‘It is what it is!’ That was kind of the vibe,” Leslie went on. “And I just feel like Teresa deserves to be happy. And may I say I am so impressed with Gia,” she added, looking at Melissa. “Your niece is an amazing young lady. She brought tears to my eyes when I watched that first episode. What a great kid.”

Melissa agreed that “Gia has an amazing head on her shoulders.”

A caller then asked both ladies if they felt Joe Giudice should write a book about everything he’s been through. Leslie said yes, but only “if all of the proceeds go to his children, if he doesn’t take a dime.” Melissa nodded her head in approval.

“Do you think Joe Giudice is a good writer, Leslie?” Andy asked mockingly.

“No, I do not,” she replied. “I do not think he’s a good writer. But I’m sure we can find someone to help him out with that.”

“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
