It was revealed on Tuesday Chrissy Teigen‘s parents called it quits and the supermodel reacted in the only way she knew how, with humor.
The “Lip Sync Battle” host’s father Ron Teigen Sr. filed for divorce from her mother, Vilailuck Teigen, in Los Angeles, citing “irreconcilable differences” according to court documents.
And Chrissy attempted to bring levity to the situation by highlighting the potential bright side of divorce when she heard the news, exclaiming, “Two Christmases!” according to reporter Karen Valby, who tweeted a snippet of the conversation from her interview with the mother-of-two for December’s Vanity Fair.
In addition to raising Chrissy, the estranged pair share daughter, Tina. Besides the joke, Chrissy has yet to speak out publicly about her parents’ split.
But Chrissy’s lighthearted response recorded by Valby may be symbolic of her parents’ non-traditional relationship, as Chrissy previously revealed details about their unique living arrangements in an interview with US Weekly.

“So my mom lives with us,” she said in January 2018. “Everybody is like, ‘Where’s your dad?'” Chrissy revealed her father lived about 10 minutes down the road from their Beverly Hills mansion, and would visit often.
“He comes by every day and they’re married. It just works for them. It’s a good family life. We’re all very close, very tight–knit,” she shared at the time.
Chrissy is very close with both of her parents as she documents their family exploits on social media constantly.
Vilailuck is often seen on Instagram babysitting Chrissy and husband John Legend’s kids — daughter Luna, three, and son Miles, one — and preparing dinner for the busy family.
Meanwhile, Chrissy’s pop Ron got a tattoo of her face on his bicep in December 2018, which Chrissy reciprocated with ink of all the family members’ birth dates.
