Katie Holmes Won’t Discuss Wardrobe From Tom Cruise Era

Katie Holmes is famously quiet when it comes to her romantic life.

And in a new interview with Elle, the Hollywood heavyweight proved on trend regarding her seven year relationship with Tom Cruise.

When Elle wanted to create a video of Holmes discussing her style over the ages, her PR team asked the publication to remove certain images of Holmes that “coincidentally” coincided with her famous relationship with Cruise.

However, she did talk about her child with Cruise, Suri, “I was happy to become a mom in my twenties. It’s been nice that our ages fit — how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together.”

Katie also attempts to manage her own self-perception by having a strict rule not to Google herself: “I feel like my time is better spent watching an old film, reading a great book, spending time with friends and family. That is somebody else’s version of me and I can’t do anything about that.”

But the scrutiny of the public eye and constant buzzing about of paparazzi can be daunting, according to the “Batman Begins” actress.

“It’s a lot. It’s a lot. Honestly,” Holmes confessed. “That kind of attention is — I try to keep it in perspective because it just is what it is. I try to look nice when I leave the house. I’m very private and quiet, so it’s interesting that there’s that part of my life.”

Something Holmes isn’t too wary to talk about is her legacy of “Dawson’s Creek” — the WB teen drama that made her a household name back in 1998.

Last year marked its 20th anniversary and the cast (Holmes, James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams and Busy Philipps) reunited for a cover shoot.

“It was really nice,” Holmes mused. “We all went out to dinner and, I think, for all of us to really sit back in amazement that people still watch it and care about it. It was bigger than all of us and we all feel grateful that we got to contribute to it and benefit from it. We all got so many opportunities because of it.”
