Hailey Baldwin Defends Normani After ‘Racist’ Critic Slams Her Cher Costume

Hailey Baldwin came to the defense of Normani after a troll criticized the singer’s Cher Halloween costume.

On Friday, Normani shared a pic of her replicating Cher’s 1979 iconic photoshoot, which included the “Motivation” singer sitting naked wearing a silver wig and fairy wings. In response, an Instagram user slammed Normani for dressing up as a white artist.

“I don’t think this is the right costume for a black girl, Cher is white and Cher was thing, Cher did a lot you not even close to her,” the troll commented. “you black people think you own everything not fair you could’ve been beyonce or rihanna or janet but no cher cher is white respect her [sic].”

But Hailey wasn’t having it and hit back at the user in the comments section by writing, “stop being racist.”

“There is absolutely nothing wrong with Normani dressing up as Cher for Halloween,” the 22-year-old model began.

“What do you mean by the first sentence?” she continued. “She can do it because she wants to, she is doing much better than you, you’re behind a computer complaining about a costume. Stop being racist and get out of her page if you don’t like it.”

Hailey concluded, “It’s 2019 and you’re still supporting the garbage of Trump, Marta.”

Although the former Fifth Harmony member received harsh criticism from the particular hater, many celebrities praised Normani’s costume.

“Wow,” Kylie Jenner wrote alongside a heart-eyes emoji. “Omg,” actress Rowan Blanchard commented.

“U AIN’T PLAYING,” celebrity stylist Neal Farinah added, while sister duo Chloe x Halle commented, “omg!!!!!!!!”

Normani also honored another icon this Halloween: Naomi Campbell. The pop star recreated the supermodel’s infamous Azzedine Alaïa leopard print look from a 1991 photoshoot.

Similar to her ode to Cher, the “Dancing with a Stranger” singer shared three photos rocking Campbell’s look.

On one of the sizzling shots, Hailey chimed in and wrote, “Ok… wow.”

Wow, indeed.
