Best Of Beauty: Our October Favourites

Dry cabin air, unfamiliar weather and late nights? They got nothing on us, baby! We spill the beans on the beauty essentials that helped us get through fashion month.

|

Has it really been a full month since Louis Vuitton closed Paris Fashion Week? October passed by in a flash— it seems like just yesterday that we were rushing from show to show in the heart of the City of Lights. In this edition of Best of Beauty, we talk about the saviours we had on hand that ensured our skin received the TLC that it desperately needed during the hectic fashion month. Unfamiliar weather, multiple plane rides and late nights had nothing on us!

So if you’re looking for additions to your beauty arsenal, these are the ones you ought to dip into, especially if you’re a jet setter who finds yourself constantly hopping from one city to the next. Most of these products come in travel-friendly sizes, so simply toss them into your vanity bag and you’re good to go. Read on for the list of beauty essentials that we couldn’t be more thankful for all month.

Chanel Blue Serum

We’ve been putting a few serums on rotation and decided to bring this revitalising facial serum for fashion month since my skin always feels smoother and brighter after application. It contains three natural ingredients – coffee from Costa Rica, olive from Sardinia lentisk and gum from Greece – and they all work together to reduce the appearance of spots, wrinkles and fine lines.

Clarins Extra-Firming Day Cream

This day cream, which contains anti-wrinkle and lifting properties, has found its way into our daily morning routine. There’s no oily residue or sticky feeling after application, so feel free to smear a generous amount on your skin without worrying that it would turn greasy over time. Belonging to the new Extra-Firming range, this Clarins Laboratories product reactivates firmness with the help of its kangaroo flower extract.

Vernon François Dazzling Spritz Shine Spray

Having fine hair means that it gets oily. Fast. So, to salvage the mess, spritz this onto your hair while combing it with your fingers to stimulate the scalp and give your roots some lift. Created by celebrity hairstylist Vernon François, this weightless finishing spray contains active ingredients and just a touch of glitter that will add a luminous shine to your hair. It also has a fresh and clean scent, which is an added bonus, especially if you’re going to be fresh off a plane.

Hysses Verbena Rose Hand Cream

If you find yourself longing for hand cream on plane rides or in a winter country, you’re not alone. The habit of picking one’s dry and cracked skin on our hands is one that is hard to kick. To minimise any damage done, always make sure you have a good hand moisturiser at all times. This hand cream is lightweight and gets absorbed into the skin quickly, so you can be rest assured that you won’t have to deal with any sticky residue.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF 50+

This CC cream is truly the cream of the crop and a must-have for those of you who are constantly on-the-go. I have applied this at the back of an Uber many times right after flights in hopes of adding more colour to my sickly pale cheeks. The product works as a full-coverage foundation and comes with sunblock and extensive skincare benefits. A multi-tasking gem, this product acts as a serum, primer, concealer and day cream, and serves as the perfect base layer on days where you want heavier coverage.
