Beauty Wars: The Top Tinted Moisturisers In Our Vanities

Whether you’re time-pressed or simply going for a natural makeup look, you’ve got to add these tinted moisturisers to your beauty routines.

Waking up early after sleeping in the wee hours of the night is an agonising process and I can never seem to start the morning right. I hit snooze on my alarm just once (“five more minutes…”) and before I know it, thirty minutes has passed and I’m running late for my appointment. When I finally check the time, it is fear that sends me springing up from my bed. Great, now I have to speed through my morning beauty routine in order to get out of my house in a flash.

This is why the multi-tasking tinted moisturiser is the makeup must-have when you fall victim to good ol’ tardiness. Think of it as a combination of a foundation and a hydrating cream. But, even if you’re not looking to shorten your daily makeup routine, there are many other reasons why you would opt to use a one.

If you’re having a great skin day already – not that I can relate, sigh – there’s no better way to celebrate than to put on just a touch of tinted moisturiser as a starter to your no-makeup makeup look. Looking for full coverage? Grab that sponge, up the volume and work it into your skin, then top it off with concealer and set it with powder. The best part? You’ll still have that next-to-nothing feeling on your skin. In this month’s Beauty Wars, we put the top tinted moisturisers in the market to the test and find out if any – or all – of them give our skin the dewy and natural glow that we all covet.

Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser

A cult favourite, this tinted moisturiser has an oil-free formula and SPF that works to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Infused with kopara from French Polynesia and mineral rich seawater, the formula is hydrating, which also means it’s more forgiving on the skin. We would recommend that you apply it on areas that don’t turn oily easily because the product will give you a shiny sheen.

Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30

If you struggle with dry skin like I do, rejoice, for this tinted moisturiser delivers hydration while leaving you with the most natural sheer coverage. The added SPF doesn’t oxidise, so you don’t have to worry about the formula changing colours mid-day. Incredibly lightweight and ultra-fine, it’ll feel like you have nothing on your face, even if the resulting glow indicates otherwise.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation Full Coverage Moisturizer™ with SPF 50+

Here you have a full-coverage moisturiser that lives up to its name – you truly don’t need to add traditional foundation to the mix, and a small amount of product can go a long way. The bioluminescence and diamond powder really helps you achieve a subtle radiance. This tinted moisturiser blends flawlessly with a beauty blender or liquid foundation brush. This product isn’t available in Singapore yet, though, so be sure not to miss it if you chance upon it somewhere else.
