My Updated Skincare Routine: Part 1, Daytime

My Updated Skincare Routine: Part 1, Daytime

I spill the beans on ride-or-die skincare products that have a special place on the vanity shelves, some I’ve been using for years. (And yes, there’s a part two!)

As a self-professed beauty aficionado, I hold my skincare routine close to my heart. Maybe even more so than my makeup routine. If you think of your skin as a canvas, the quality of the canvas then matters for the final result to be a masterpiece. It’s cheesy metaphor, but you get the point. So, I’m going to let you in on how I make sure my skin gets the TLC that it deserves every day.

After brushing my teeth, the first thing that I do would be to cleanse my face. I’m sure you’ve heard enough of Fresh’s Soy Face Cleanser, but in case you need another sign that it’s time to get started on this, let this be your final sign. My face feels soft, supple and clean, but never with that uncomfortable squeaky feeling.

Since the cleanser also functions as a makeup remover (yes, mascara included, tried and tested), I also use it at night. In fact, I have been using this ultra-light gel cleanser for over a decade and it is truly a testament to how Fresh is committed to producing products that don’t skimp on quality.

The next step would be to apply a serum and I have been alternating between a few. When my skin feels dryer than usual, I apply Drunk Elephant’s B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum. On regular days, I find myself reaching for Vital Treatment 5 Energy Roots, an energising essence from Blithe.

Then, I would apply a generous amount of Deep Sea Moisturiser from One Ocean Beauty to my face. I stumbled upon this gem of a skincare brand recently and I can’t stop raving about it because its products are affordable, natural and of great quality.

The last step of my routine would be to smear some Eye Revival Marine Cream from One Ocean Beauty under my eyes so that the anti-ageing marine actives in the product add radiance to the area. The skin beneath your eyes is the most sensitive so always remember to be gentle while you tap the area in a circular motion to work the product into the skin.

That’s all for my daily skincare routine in the morning! Stay tuned to the second part of my updated skincare routine, in which I disclose more tips and all my favourite products to use right before bedtime.
