Phoebe Waller-Bridge Reveals Who She Was Excited to Meet at Emmys 2019

“Fleabag” was the big winner at the Emmys!

Some of the awards that “Fleabag” took home include the Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.

“Extra’s” Renee Bargh spoke with “Fleabag” star and creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her portrayal of a dysfunctional woman navigating life and love in London.

Phoebe’s wins haven’t sunk in yet. She said, “It’s mad, isn’t it? It feels lovely.”

She was joined by her co-stars Andrew Scott, Sian Clifford and Brett Gelman, who described “Fleabag’s” wins as “amazing.”

As for the show ending after its second season, the 34-year-old commented, “I know. I’m sorry.”

Who was she excited to see at the star-studded show? Phoebe answered, “Julia Louis-Dreyfus has been an absolute, a queen for me… I met Ted Danson — that was f**king amazing.”

Julia had taken home the award for six straight years.

Waller-Bridge will be hosting “SNL” this fall, with musical guest Taylor Swift performing. She admitted, “Really nervous, actually, but really excited.”

It was also a big night for “Killing Eve,” a spy thriller created by Waller-Bridge. Jodie Comer, who plays a killer named Villanelle in the show, won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Of the win, Phoebe exclaimed “what a moment!” and said Jodie was still in shock when she saw her backstage.

As if she isn’t busy enough, Waller-Bridge is also a writer on the new Bond movie “No Time to Die.” She joked with Renee that she’s only contributed “a word or two.”

After the Emmys, Phoebe celebrated her win at the Amazon party, where she was spotted with her director boyfriend Martin McDonagh.
