High-Heeled Flip-Flops For When It’s Not That Casual

High-Heeled Flip-Flops For When It’s Not That Casual

Nay or yay? Like the dad sneakers and the fanny pack, this pre-millennium essential is having a comeback. We’ll state our case and let you make your choice.

In the midst of this sweltering heat, we’re not super keen on pulling on a pair of boots, and aren’t super interested in sandals that feel like they’re slipping off with every step we take. The solution? High-heeled flip-flops. Yes, you heard that right, and it’s the hottest choice of footwear this summer. (Pun fully intended.)

Trust us when we say that it’s really much cooler than it sounds. These are certainly not the same as the tacky flip-flop wedges that were all-the-rage in the early 2000s. Think chicer and cooler, like an elevated flip-flop with a minimalist vibe. Wear it to the beach – but not on the sand if you know what’s good for you – then to office. Very acceptable.

Many designers have already caught onto this rising silhouette – Gianvito Rossi, Yeezys, Balenciaga, Fenty X Puma, Simon Miller, and Cult Gaia. Sure they cost way more than your average Havaianas, but this can be worn to way more places, and with sleeker, more Old Céline-esque clothes. Convinced yet? We sure are. Below, shop all the ones already out in stores, and look out for the rest to come.
