Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux Appear to Reunite to Say Goodbye to Their Dog

On Sunday, former couple Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s German shepherd Dolly passed away.

Justin shared the sad news on his Instagram, writing, “Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle … our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. 🐺💔 She was surrounded by her entire family.”

Many are speculating that his note that Dolly’s “entire family” was there implied that Jennifer was also on hand to bid farewell.

Along with his Instagram, Theroux also included photos of the outdoor burial ceremony, which had Dolly surrounded by flower petals.

One of the photos also featured what appears to be Aniston’s hand grasping Theroux’s hand as they said goodbye to their dog, who was covered with a blanket.

Justin’s post also included a quote by George Vest, which read, “The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful…is the dog — faithful and true, even in deaths.”

He ended his post by encouraging others to adopt with the hashtags #adoptdontshop and #rescuedog.

In response to his Instagram, Jennifer’s BFF Courteney Cox wrote, “We love you dolly 💔💔.”

In 2015, Dolly was part of Jennifer and Justin’s top-secret wedding at their Bel-Air home, along with their pitbull mix Sophie. At the time, a source told People magazine, “They are like Jen’s babies.”

Justin and Jennifer were seen with the dog as early as 2006. They split in 2018 after more than two years of marriage.

The dog was named after Dolly Parton. The country legend told E! News in 2017, “I’m very touched when people have known me so long or to say that I’ve been an inspiration, but you really know when you’ve got a true fan when someone like Jennifer Aniston says, ‘I named my dog Dolly Parton.'”
