Entertainer Jennifer Lopez celebrated her 50th birthday with a huge shindig at Emilio and Gloria Estefan’s house on Star Island in Miami.
Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez were joined at the gold-theme party by 250 guests, including DJ Khaled, Fat Joe and Ashanti, who all performed. A source told E! News, “There are multiple tents and the décor is modern with a lot of white and gold. There are big gold balls being strung across the yard and a large gold bar. There’s lounge furniture and sofas also being set up on the lawn.”
Another insider pointed out that Lopez was “having the time of her life,” adding, “Jennifer looked like she had an amazing night. A-Rod was never far from her side and clearly adores her. He wanted the night to be special for her, and she was glowing all night long.”
According to E! News, A-Rod also gave a heartfelt speech, telling Jennifer, “To the love of my life, [you know] how much I love you. Happy birthday, of course. It’s been such a great journey for us, and it includes everybody here — our friends our loved ones. That we stay connected through the phones, through Instagram, through whatever, but the love you guys give us is felt every day from the bottom of our hearts.”
On Thursday morning, Ryan Seacrest also dished on the party on “Live with Kelly & Ryan,” saying, “A.Rod gets up and makes the most romantic, sweetest speech in front of everybody so I’m sucked into the romance movie.”
Though Seacrest was able to witness Rodriguez’s speech, he had to leave the party early to get back to New York for work and missed the dance party!

The birthday bash also included a fireworks display. An insider shared, “At one point they called everyone over to the ledge to watch a fireworks show over the water. J.Lo and A-Rod were hugging as they watched and having a great time.”
The source added, “There were numerous toasts and performance, but most of the time J.Lo was just singing and dancing.”
The outlet also reported that everyone sang “Go Shorty, It’s Your Birthday” when Jennifer cut her birthday cake. Along with birthday cake, guests were able to enjoy a buffet and donuts.
Lopez’s kids Emme and Max also performed for their mama. Emme sang Diana Ross’ hit “Do You Know Where You’re Going To?” and Emme sang a rendition of “My Shot” from “Hamilton.” A source told Us Weekly, “The big surprise performance was done by J. Lo’s daughter. J. Lo was seated right up front to watch her and was both crying and was beaming with pride; she gave them a huge hug after.”
DJ Cassidy had the crowd dancing with classic rap, Latin music and R&B tunes. He had also DJed her 40th.
Lopez received birthday love on social media from big names, including Kris Jenner, Mary J. Blige and Rita Ora.
In response to Lopez’s video from the party, Kris wrote on Instagram, “Happy Birthday!!!!!!!! Love you.”
Mary added, “TURN UP @jlo 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽.”
A month before her birthday, Lopez revealed her secret to staying young, telling “Extra’s” Adam Glassman, “Be happy, be happy!”
