A week after Boyce, 20, died of a seizure in his sleep, Carson wrote on Instagram, “To our angel, There are not enough words. There will never be enough words. I couldn’t bring myself to do this because doing this makes it real. Letting you go is not something I know how to do. And I just can’t fathom living in a world without you. I love you, Cam. And I will love you. Forever.”

Her words were accompanied by a balletic, black-and-white image of Boyce in mid-leap.

Fellow actress Dove Cameron, who has already expressed her grief over Boyce, replied, “i love you,” and “Descendants” director Kenny Ortega wrote of the image, “I’m soaring, flying, there’s not a star in heaven that I can’t reach.”

Disney Channel has canceled the July 22 premiere of “Descendants 3,” saying in a statement, “We’re proud to be part of Cameron Boyce’s legacy by showcasing his talents on screen, but we are cancelling the red carpet premiere event for ‘Descendants 3.'”

Boyce’s seizure was brought on by epilepsy. An autopsy was performed, with the final cause of death listed as “pending additional testing.” The coroner’s office has said that “preliminary information suggests the death occurred under natural circumstances.”
