Singers Shawn Mendes, 20, and Camila Cabello, 22, have everyone talking about their rumored romance!
After being seen several times over the holiday weekend, the two cozied up to each other in a booth at Kitchen24 in West Hollywood on Sunday at 5 a.m.
Not only were they sharing the same side of the table, Shawn wrapped his arm around Camila and even planted a kiss on her forehead in a video and photo obtained by TMZ!
At one point, Shawn seemed to spot a camera on their late-night date when he turned around in the booth. Camila tried to keep a low profile with a hoodie over her head.
An eyewitness told Us Weekly, “They walked in and took a booth, and Camila put her head on Shawn’s shoulder. He kissed her forehead and she hung her head on his shoulder. They looked like a couple and in love.”
To fuel more rumors, Camila posted a cryptic Instagram that many are speculating is about Shawn. She wrote, “You’re going to lose yourself from time to time. Come back. Come back to what your heart knows. No matter how long you’ve been gone, come back.”
Camila and Shawn have known each other for five years, ever since meeting as openers on Austin Mahone’s tour. Throughout the years, they remained close friends while dating other people.
Though Shawn denied the dating rumors on Friday at a fan Q&A in Los Angeles, they were spotted packing on the PDA right in front of the photogs.
Shawn and Camila spent the Fourth of July together at a star-studded party in Nobu. A fan account posted a video of Mendes and Cabello cozying up at the edge of an infinity pool surrounded by greenery and the beach.
A source told Us Weekly, “They were sitting with each other, facing each other, and looking very intimate. They left together holding hands.”
On a separate outing, they were spotted hanging out on a balcony. Another insider told E! News, “He was holding her at one point and they were staring into the ocean. They both were smiling the entire time and Camilla was laughing a lot. They rarely mingled with other people and were together the entire evening. They were telling people they were a couple.”
Shawn and Camila, who have been the subject of romance rumors for years, reignited the conversation after the release of their new music video “Señorita.”
In the video, directed by Dave Meyers, they play lovers who meet at a club and eventually spend the night together in a motel room. The song also features Camila singing the lyrics, “You say we’re just friends. But friends don’t know the way you taste, la la la.”
Shawn and Camila, who have been subject to dating rumors for years, have always insisted that they were just friends.
After the release of the steamy music video, news broke that Camila had called it quits with dating guru Matthew Hussey. A source told The Sun, “Camila’s relationship with Matthew had run its course and they decided to break up about a fortnight ago.”
The insider added, “It was a mutual decision to end things. But they have spent a lot of time together over the last year and a half and want to stay friends despite going their own way.”
She seemed to address the split on Instagram, saying, “If you really love me, please do not send people I love and care about hateful things. You doing that really hurts me, and it’s so unnecessary and heavy and damaging to add more pain to pain. There’s a real person behind your tweets. You spamming them with hateful, insensitive things is really not funny, is causing all of us pain, and doesn’t all reflect the values I talk about.”
In her new collaboration with Mark Ronson, “Find U Again,” Camila sings about someone that she can’t stop thinking about. The song features her singing “I’ll try to pass the night away with somebody new. But they don’t have a shot when I compare them to you.” Could she be singing about Shawn? She is listed as one of the writers on the song.
