Jeon Mi-seon, a prominent South Korean actress who starred in the 2005 film “Love Is a Crazy Thing,” was found dead Saturday in a hotel in Jeonju, South Korea, Variety reports. She was 48.
Her manager reported that she had been missing for two days, and that she suffered from depression.
The actress checked into the hotel for two days, there was no sign of forced entry, and there was no suicide note, police confirmed to local media. Her agency, Boas Entertainment confirmed she had been treated for depression, while police reported that she had recently lost a family member and that her mother has been bedridden with an illness.
Famous for her work on the stage and on TV, she was best-known as a supporting actress in a string of films, including “Memories of Murder” (2003), “Mother” (2009), and “Hide and Seek” (2013). She was in Jeonju appearing in the play “2 Nights and 3 Days with my Mother.”
