Taylor Swift and Katy Perry are ready to let bygones be bygones, and they’ve got the baked goods to prove it. Katy shared a snap of some fresh chocolate chip cookies to her Instagram page on June 11 and tagged Taylor with the caption, “Feels good.” She marked the location as “Let’s Be Friends” and Taylor replied with a series of heart emojis. The cookies were served on a plate with the phrase “Peace at last” written in icing and sprinkles — a nod to the end of their famous feud.
The drama between Taylor and Katy reportedly started sometime between 2012 and 2013, over backup dancers. There’s been plenty of subtle back-and-forth in the years since, but Katy officially buried the hatchet in May 2018 when she sent Taylor an actual olive branch before the opening of her Reputation tour.
Their dessert-driven reconciliation comes shortly after Taylor included Katy’s single “Never Really Over” on her Apple Music “ME!” playlist. Who has time for bad blood, anyway? Fans on both sides are taking this interaction as a clue that the two pop singers could be collaborating soon, perhaps on Taylor’s upcoming seventh album. Hey, Katy already said she’s open to it!
