‘Game of Thrones’ Finale: Water Bottle Mistake

Well, it’s come and gone. The series finale of HBO’s hit show, Game of Thrones, aired last night to a mix of emotions and opinions. But one thing everyone can agree on? This water-bottle-gate is not OK. Fans are roasting the Game of Thrones finale water bottle mistakes. Guys—come on! There was a Starbucks cup in one of the first episodes this season, Jamie’s hand grew back in Episode 5. And now, eagle-eyed fans spotted a water bottle behind both Samwell Tarly and Davos Seaworth’s legs. Clearly, the actors needed water on set—but the question remains as to whether the team thought the bottles would be concealed behind their legs….? Or if it was by total accident that they were left in the shot while the cameras rolled (more likely). But the bigger question is HOW did no one catch it? Especially after the whole Starbucks issue, which Sophie Turner hilariously blamed Emilia Clarke for BTW. You’d think they’d be even more on top of things like that. Of course, all the episodes were probably finalized at once so maybe they didn’t go back through after the final edits were made. Either way, fans have, of course, been calling the show out for this error.

The first water bottle was spotted right after Tyrion is escorted out by Grey Worm to have a little chat with Westeros’ most powerful men and women. It’s pretty much in plain sight. Now, we’ll admit, you wouldn’t really notice it if you were just focused on the action. That’s not an excuse, but we’re guessing *most* were more interested in what the characters were saying and less on whether something was out of place. But don’t get us wrong—a modern day water bottle definitely doesn’t feel like Westeros-approved. Ah well.

But like we said, Sam wasn’t the only one at fault. In the same scene, a water bottle can also be seen behind Liam Cunningham (Aka Sir Davos)’s leg.

But these are two of the most likable characters in the whole series so honestly we don’t fault the actors at ALL for needing to stay ~hydrated~. It’s more on the production team for not catching it. Welp! The rest of the set dressing, costumes, acting, cinematography, etc were fantastic. Like—can we just talk about this shot for a hot sec?

HBO.

Probably the best shot of the whole series.

And then, of course, all the ~fantastic~ memes that came out of the finale. We know people are divided on the end—but let’s just let the memes speak for themselves shall we?

First up—Ghost. Because THANK GOD. He finally got that love from Jon.

Dany dying. *quietly sobs even though we knew it had to happen*

Drogon

The happy ending we didn’t think they’d get:

Bran is King.

The Note.

And then let’s just appreciate this for a moment:

And this throwback:

When some things were left unanswered…

LOL Kit. Who edited this? So good.

Some conflicting views on the ending:

And words from the OG GOAT himself:

Goodnight.
