Oprah Winfrey Gift to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Baby

The arrival of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first child is approaching, and their good friend Oprah Winfrey knows just what to get the bundle of joy. At The Hollywood Reporter‘s Empowerment in Entertainment gala on Tuesday, Oprah caught up with Access Hollywood and discussed the upcoming arrival of Baby Sussex.

When asked what she plans on giving the royal tot, the 65-year-old mogul replied, “Oh, honey, I have a standard gift that I do for people that I really care about. I don’t know the baby’s name or the baby’s gender, but this baby will have enough books to last a lifetime.” Think that includes her latest novel, The Path Made Clear: Discovering Your Life’s Direction and Purpose? I mean, if Meghan and Harry read that to their baby every day, the kid is going to be destined for greatness — blessed directly by the words of Oprah herself. The power!

Oprah also admitted to having a soft spot for the baby, considering her friendship with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Although she didn’t attend Meghan’s New York baby shower in February, she supported the couple at their gorgeous royal wedding last year. She also defended Meghan against negative media reports in April, telling CBS This Morning, “I think she’s being portrayed unfairly. She is not only everything that we perceive of her in being graceful and dynamic in holding that position, but she just has a wonderful, warm, giving, loving heart.”

So if Oprah is in your corner, you won’t lack emotional support or books — that’s friendship.
