How Does One Foundation In Two Different Textures Compare, You Ask?

How Does One Foundation In Two Different Textures Compare, You Ask?

Sitting on the fence for this one? Our reader, Denise (@denisetws), puts both formulas from YSL Beauty to the test to see if they could live up to its claims.

Welcome to KULALA Beauty Club, where YOU our dear readers help us suss out the best in the beautysphere. This week, we have Denise (@denisetws) who loves exploring new things and places. She can’t leave the house without blusher, making her the perfect candidate to review the YSL All Hours Foundation in two separate textures.

My expectations for my very first YSL foundation was high especially after hearing only good reviews of this foundation online. It’s known for its staying power and flawless finish, so I decided to put it to the test and use it for a full day out from work to a night out.

The YSL Beauty All Hours Foundation comes in both a pump bottle and a stick form. As I normally have dry skin, I prepped my skin with a hydrating primer before application for both foundations.

I love the YSL Beauty All Hours Liquid Foundation as it is convenient and easy. With a foundation brush, I noticed that the runny formula blended in like second skin, leaving a semi-matte, medium coverage, flawless finish. I set this foundation with my usual translucent setting powder and wore it for a total of 18 hours. To my surprise, it stayed on incredibly well without caking in typically drier areas such as the under eye, which is a major plus point for my dry skin.

On a separate day, I put the YSL Beauty All Hours Stick Foundation on trial, using the same hydrating primer. The formula is very creamy and glides without feeling too thick. It has a similar semi-matte finish with medium coverage as the liquid foundation. I also used a brush for this, but realised at the end of the day that it doesn’t last as long as the former version. However, if you’re one for touchups on-the-go, this is a more convenient option.

All in all, I’m impressed with this foundation, and it might just be my new holy grail makeup product! If you’re looking for a long lasting matte foundation, you should add this to your cart.
