What Is Alpha-H and Is It Worth The Hype?

If you’re into active ingredients and their magical efficacy on the skin, this brand should be on your radar.

Today, we’re diving right into an Australian skincare brand, Alpha-H, that’s been designing products made with active ingredients for over twenty years now. By active ingredients, we mean all the various acids that are very popular – AHAs, BHAs, retinol, hyaluronic acid. Their cult-favourite Liquid Gold serum put them on the radar, but on today’s list, we have a scrub, moisturiser, and a night cream. Keep reading to find out how we feel about it.

Alpha-H Micro Cleanse Super Scrub

This exfoliant combines both the effects of a physical scrub and a chemical scrub, which can be quite harsh for some skin types. Though the beading is tiny, we have a tendency to over-scrub or rub too violently, and prefer to stick to chemical exfoliants. It does have glycolic acid, though, and our face feels cool and clean after using it. Yet, after a week of use, we didn’t notice any drastic improvements or changes.

Alpha-H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50+

We wouldn’t recommend a moisturiser this thick and creamy for a humid and hot country like Singapore, but this fast-absorbing moisturiser contains SPF50, which is perfect for a no-fuss morning routine while travelling. The formula doesn’t leave a white cast, isn’t greasy, and eliminates the need for a separate sunscreen. Because of it’s sticky texture after drying, it acts as a primer that holds foundation well, too. Bonus feature!

Alpha-H Multi Vitamin Super Cream

Night creams can have the tendency to be too heavy for Singapore’s weather, but this one is, surprisingly, the best out of the three products thus far. It’s not heavily scented, extra hydrating, and contains retinol. We really love the press-down design of the dispenser, too. This leaves our skin glowing the next morning, and truly lives up to its name as an extra boost of vitamins.
