Prince Louis turned one! We were treated to some adorable new photos in celebration of his birthday, and while we were looking at them for the fifth or sixth time, we also spied with our little eyes a comment left by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The comment was left on Kensington Palace’s Instagram post by the @SussexRoyal handle, and read, “Happy Birthday Louis! Sending lots of love from both of us 🎂🎈 xo”.
Ever since the duke and duchess joined Instagram, people have been speculating as to who is running the account. The obvious answer would be a member of their team, but some little details (like the use of American spellings) have led some to suggest it might actually be Meghan herself. She certainly knows her way around social media, as an avid Instagram user and founder of her now defunct lifestyle website, The Tig. The informality of the cute message, the use of “us”, and the sign off with “xo” suggests that it’s quite possible that Meghan has access and strong input to the Instagram account, and we wouldn’t expect anything less from her. With Meghan’s baby due to be born any day, fans are wondering whether, after a few days of private family time to enjoy the baby, we’ll get more news on baby Sussex via Instagram. Either way, the comment was just as adorable as the photos.
