Comeback! Tiger’s Miracle Win at the Masters

In what Yahoo! Sports is calling “the greatest comeback in sports history,” golfer Tiger Woods won the Masters Sunday, 11 years after his last major victory.

Woods, 43, won the tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia by a single stroke after keeping his cool as other, younger golfers went to pieces in the final round. In the end, he chalked up his 15th major victory 22 years after he first won the Masters. He has now won the coveted green jacket five times in all.

A family affair

Woods screamed and pumped his fist as he realized he’d won, sharing the moment with his sons, Charlie and Sam. Yahoo! reports he said, “I’m a little hoarse from yelling… When I tapped the putt in, I don’t know what I did; I know I screamed. To have my kids there, it’s come full circle. My dad was there in ‘97 [when he won for the first time], and now I’m the dad.”

Legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus tweeted congrats to Woods, writing, “A big ‘well done’ from me to @TigerWoods! I am so happy for him and for the game of golf. This is just fantastic!!!”

Afterward, Woods celebrated his win with his girlfriend Erica Herman, who he has been with since 2017, his kids, and his proud mom, Kultida.

Woods will take home a cool $2.01 million for his trouble.
