CONCEALER SHADE FINDER FOR NC25 SKINTONE

If you have light to medium skin tone with warm, yellow undertones, finding an under eye concealer can be a challenge. But we’ll get into that in a minute.

I created this concealer shade finder to help you find nc25 concealer matches. About a year ago, I put up this blog post which was supposed to be Part 1 of a concealer matching series. Somehow, I moved on to other things and never revisited it. But since I’ve been keeping a running list of nc25 foundation matches due to my ongoing Foundation Road Tests.

So why not do the same for nc25 concealer matches as well?

While it’s mostly intended to help you with how to choose concealer for under eye circles, I’m including some face concealer shades as well.

What IS nc25 Anyway?

For those of you who don’t follow Mac foundation shades and don’t know what the heck NC25 foundation and concealer shades are, it basically means having light medium skin tone with warm, yellow undertones.

The Challenge…

“They” say to go a full shade lighter than your face in order to brighten the under eye. We’re also told to use a yellow toned concealer to help counter-balance any discoloration under our eyes. The issue with having warm, yellow skin is that when we use a yellow toned under eye concealer (just as you would your face concealer) it can make us look almost sickly and take away that brightened look. The discoloration (as well as the yellow undertones of the concealer) are also often emphasized . What we’re left with is obvious looking concealer under our eyes or a more textured look than we like. And if we go too light with our under eye concealer, we end up with reverse-raccoon eyes!!

The Solution…

Without digressing too much from what this post is intended to be, I’ll just give you a quick run down of what to do for your under eyes. Basically, if you have discoloration under your eyes and are anywhere near nc25 (nc20, nc30, etc), I always recommend using a corrector first to correct the discoloration (you only need a tiny bit localized to the discolored area). Then and only then do you use a peachy or neutral toned concealer that’s maybe a half a shade lighter than the skin tone of your face. When blended out, the concealer will blend in with your foundation that you’ve already put on (and stopped just below the under eye area). This is what will give you that beautiful, natural, highlighted and perfected look. Well, there are a few other techniques. But that’s the color part in a nutshell!
