Skincare for the Night – oursecondskin

Nighttime Skincare 2.jpg

Under the shine of the moon, my skincare routine transforms from light and fun to heavy-duty critical. Products become thicker, results become noticeable. As promised, I owe you all a look into the kaleidoscope I call my nighttime skin routine.

Recently, I took over Brydie Beauty’s Instagram account to spread the Our Second Skin nighttime skin regimen. As I was going live, I noticed questions pouring in and I wasn’t able to answer them all which (fast forward) is why I’m here.

Well, enough beating around the bush I’m just going to dive right in. If you don’t already know, I have dry-to-combo skin. It depends on seasons, but lately, my skin has been a little drier than usual so if you need some extra moisture for your skin, continue reading.

Dior Life Oil To Milk Cleanser

I have the full range of Dior cleansers and let me tell you they make them for all skin types. So if this one has too much moisture for your liking, try a different make — Oil to Milk, Lotion to Foam and Micellar Milk. They’ve basically got you covered on the skincare spectrum oily to dry to combo. As I said before, my skin has been on the dry side so the Oil to Milk cleanser has been a critical step in removing all my makeup and excess dirt at the end of the night. The almond oil activates once you massage it into the skin and add in some water. It’s incredible because there’s no oil residue or oily sensation on your skin once you’ve finished using it.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Essence Mist

I don’t even know where to start on this mist…It’s life-changing. I carry it with me everywhere, mist it before and after I apply makeup, before I go to bed and when I wake up. You can LITERALLY use it wherever, whenever. Just be prepared to get some looks while spritzing away on the subway.

Goop Perfecting Eye Cream

On the top of my list of favorite eye creams, you’ll find Gweneth Paltrow’s Goop Perfecting Eye Cream. Scratch that, you’ll find all of their products.  You can use this in the morning or night, I use it for both. Just apply a small amount (a little goes a long way), I’m super paranoid about wrinkles and fine lines if that doesn’t apply to you: Skip this step!!

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream

The crème de la crème of Creams. Sometimes a bit of science and stem cell technology can be good especially when you have the help of an expert. The formula behind this cream intensely hydrates and replenishes the skin using Argan oil, Vitamin E, antioxidants and fatty acids. Let me tell you, once I got my hands on this cream, it eliminated the use of any extra products. Worth the price, if you’re looking for a simple routine use a cleanser + The Rich Cream at night and you will see a noticeable difference in your skin.

Tata Harper Beautifying Face Oil

If you have dull or rough skin this oil is perfect for you. When I don’t want to use a cream or lotion before bed, in lieu of the cream, Tata Harper’s products save my skin. An incredibly light-weight oil, could be the product you need to energize and revitalize your skin throughout the night.

The Captivator

This energizing mist doesn’t have anything to do much with my skincare routine, but more so for calming and relaxation purposes. Since mental health is one of the most toll-taking factors on your skin, I decided to throw this product in the mix. I kid you not, every night before I go to bed I spray relentlessly in the air and let the mist trickle onto my hair, my pillows and skin. The scent is an intoxicating mix of Sandalwood, Sage and Neroli. An instant sense of relaxation easily overwhelms you and puts you right to bed. This anxiety-reducing spray is worthy of taking up the most premier real estate on your bedside table.

That completes the Our Second Skin tried and true. Let us know your thoughts and if you’d like to learn more feel free to shoot the OSS team a message.
