(AllHipHop News) No one wants R. Kelly in their city, including Dubai.
On Sunday, Dubai’s government adamantly denied a claim by the “Ignition” singer saying that he had plans of performing there.
A representative from the royal family also slammed claims they were clamoring to meet R. Kelly.
“Authorities in Dubai have not received any request for a performance by singer R. Kelly nor are there any venues that have been booked… [R.Kelly] has not been invited by the Dubai royal family for a performance.”
Kelly’s lawyer Steven A. Greenberg issued a response saying, “Mr. Kelly had a signed contract with a legitimate promoter, and any information that was included in the motion to travel was from that contract. We did not say he was invited by The royal family, but the contract did provide that he would make himself available to meet with them.”
He also brought up the point that R. Kelly needed to raise money for his children.
The statement from the Royal family could complicate our Kelly’s big to travel so he can earn a living as he fights off 10 felony charges for sexual assault.
The singer was in court on Friday, begging a judge to return his passport so he could travel abroad.
A ruling is expected is the next two weeks.
