Eva Mendes Wants to Work with Beau Ryan Gosling Again

Only “Extra” was with Eva Mendes as she surprised shoppers with her New York & Company collaboration.

Along with opening up about her designs, the busy actress discussed motherhood and when we could see her in a movie next.

Giving a shout-out to her man, Ryan Gosling, Eva revealed that he’s the one person who could pull her out of her big-screen hiatus. In 2012, the couple starred in “The Place Beyond the Pines” together, and Eva said she would “absolutely” work with him again. She added, “I’m excited to go back to work, it’s just not, like, I’m dying to do a movie again, so it has to be something really special.”

Ryan and Eva are raising two special daughters together, Esmeralda and Amada, but who is the stricter parent? She commented, “I think I am. There’s that term ‘helicopter parent,’ but aren’t you supposed to be a helicopter parent?… I’m strict about what they eat, and what they wear, and what time they go to bed.”

“And what they watch,” she continued, laughing. “So, yeah.”

Of her wardrobe at home with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old, she joked, “It’s a lot of wardrobe changes, but not in a cool way. It’s a lot of T-shirt changes.”

Mendes designed T-shirts for her new collection, saying she thought to herself, “Why don’t I design some T-shirts? ‘Cause maybe there are other women in my situation who just live in T-shirts but of course need more casual wear.”

Eva drew inspiration from her family and Cuban roots for other pieces, saying, “My grandmother — who I never met, who we named our little girl after, Amada — we have some beautiful photographs of her from ’20s Cuba… so I take a lot of inspiration from her and the jewelry she wore, the dresses she loved, a headpiece, and that’s where I get my inspiration from.”
