DJ Drama Denies Blocking Lil Uzi Vert’s Verse From Nav’s ‘Bad Habits’ Album

(AllHipHop News) According to Nav, there is a lot of drama surrounding Bad Habits. The XO Records musician accused Generation Now heads DJ Drama and Don Cannon of preventing Lil Uzi Vert from appearing on his new project.

“I know y’all wanted ‘Habits’ on the album. I had an open verse for the longest and Uzi blessed us with one. Unfortunately, DJ Drama and Don Cannon won’t clear his verse legally. I use to be a big fan of them since Gangsta Grillz mixtapes and always thought they support new [artists]. I guess [it’s] all about the $$$$ for them now! [It’s] crazy but [it’s] true,” Nav wrote on Instagram.

Nav also posted the back cover for Bad Habits on his IG page, but “HABITS FT. LIL UZI VERT” was scratched out on the tracklist. The song does not appear on the versions of the album that is presently streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, or Tidal.

However, DJ Drama is pushing back on the narrative that he and Cannon blocked Uzi’s verse. The veteran record executive told Genius, “We’ve cleared 4 NAV records. And it’s not about the money because we turned down $100K.”

For years, Lil Uzi Vert has suggested Generation Now and Atlantic Records were hindering his ability to release music. The 24-year-old Philadelphia native even declared he was quitting the music industry.

While Uzi is missing from Bad Habits, the LP does include appearances by Meek Mill, Young Thug, Gunna, and Lil Durk. XO Records leader The Weeknd executive produced the album, and he contributed to the song “Price On My Head.”
