(AllHipHop News) Rapper Travis Scott wants to block a concert promoter from referencing other shows he’s canceled in his career in their ongoing legal dispute.
Travis has been locked in a court battle with executives at promotions firm PJAM, who sued the star after he pulled out of a show at a nightclub in Minneapolis, Minnesota at late notice during last year’s Super Bowl weekend – the day before he and girlfriend Kylie Jenner announced the birth of their daughter Stormi.
They claim to have paid him $150,000 upfront and spent thousands more promoting the gig, but Travis hit back, insisting they failed to confirm his travel plans and did not have the cash to cover the remainder of his $200,000 fee or his expenses.
The case is due to head to trial, but Travis is seeking to prevent PJAM lawyers from trying to prove that he has a history of late notice concert cancellations or postponements, as he believes it would be “unfairly prejudicial” and mislead the jury.
Travis argues his past incidents have nothing to do with the PJAM dispute, but they beg to differ, listing seven other shows from 2016 until this month, noting that the rapper has scrapped gigs for various reasons.
A ruling has yet to be made.
