Kobe Bryant’s Wife Wants to Try for a Boy

Basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his wife Vanessa are getting ready to welcome their fourth baby girl as the NBA champ and Oscar winner is publishing his first book series, “The Wizenard Series: Training Camp.”

“Extra” spoke with Bryant, who revealed they may try again for a fifth child, a boy! “I think she wants a boy more than I do,” he said. “I love having girls — I’m super, super excited about that. She is as well. She wanted a boy so he can be mama’s boy forever — that sort of thing. We’ll see if I can deliver, I don’t know.”

“She’s like, ‘You go see if you can hit a clutch shot, you gave me all girls, let’s see if you can bring a boy!’ Nope, not yet, we’ll see, we’ll see,” Kobe added, joking they are going to have their own basketball team.

His older girls Bianka Bella, 2, Gianna Maria-Onore, 12, and Natalia Diamante, 16, are “super excited” about the new baby’s arrival.

The Lakers superstar confirmed his days on the court are definitely over, but he’s been coaching his girls and their teams. He said, “We started working a year ago, do a little bit, 15 minutes a day. They started enjoying the game so much they wanted to do it more. Gianna has ambitions of going to UCONN to play.”

His daughters also helped write his sports fantasy series “The Wizenard Series: Training Camp.” He said, “They read the story as it was being written. They would be really, really direct and be like, ‘Dad, that’s a wack idea, don’t do that,’ or, ‘Don’t say that, the line is really cheesy, don’t that.’ They were brutally honest. It went both ways — negative and positive.”

The 40-year-old drew on his own experience to write the story about self-acceptance and internal conflict. He shared, “Some of the fears I dealt with struggled with and tried to overcome.”

He was also inspired by Harry Potter and Mary Poppins, saying, “The idea to have a magical figure come in and guide young children was interesting to me, if I could take that into the sports world.”
