Nelly Blasts Rape Accuser Over Lack Of Cooperation With Police

(AllHipHop News) Nelly is slamming the woman who has accused him of sexual assault after reports surfaced she would no longer co-operate with police.

Cops in Essex, England opened an investigation last year after a woman claimed the rapper had masturbated in front of her and forced his penis into her mouth backstage after a concert in Southend on December 5.

Nelly denied the allegations, calling them “disingenuous.”

In a new letter, the attorney for the anonymous accuser revealed that, since they’ve already filed a civil lawsuit over the claims, they will no longer be participating in the criminal investigation, because they believe Essex Police officials have completely botched their probe.

The news has prompted Nelly to release a statement lashing out at his accuser and her lawyer.

“It is time for me to personally speak up against this!” he raged. “I have remained quiet and haven’t said anything or done anything other than fully co-operate on every level of the investigation to allow law enforcement to do whatever they need to get to the bottom of these accusations,” he says.

The rapper also defends himself, noting he has been fully co-operative with law enforcement officials.

“In spite of my complete cooperation, this same lawyer in both cases against me, is claiming the police in two different countries ‘won’t help her clients’, ‘are incompetent’ and is consistently painting a picture that I am ‘bullying the police’ in two different countries to not do their job,” he adds.

The lawyer also represented Monique Green, who accused Nelly of rape following an alleged incident on his tour bus in 2017. That case was settled last year.

The British accuser’s attorney has claimed the lead detective has treated her client like a suspect instead of a victim, allegedly asking for all her phone records, including all pictures, texts, and emails between herself and her attorney, which violates the attorney-client privilege.

The legal representative also claims police officers showed up at her client’s home unsolicited for a follow-up interview, while it took a year for Nelly, real name Cornell Haynes Jr., to fly back to Essex to be interviewed.

The attorney described the police as incompetent and accused them of being intimidated by Nelly’s fame and high-powered legal team.
