A month after his sudden passing, new details have been released about “Young and the Restless” star Kristoff St. John’s death at 52.
Based on online coroner case records, Kristoff’s cause of death is listed as hypertrophic heart disease. His death was “accidental,” brought on by an alcohol overdose.
“Extra” recently spoke with his ex-wife Mia St. John, who was struggling with his death. She said, “I have okay days, I have really bad days — I’m just waiting to get to the part where I’m having good days. It’s difficult, ’cause it’s still early.”
At the time of his death, Kristoff was struggling with depression, even checking himself into UCLA Medical Center. He had been released just days before he was found dead at his San Fernando Valley home.
St. John died months after the fourth anniversary of his son Julian’s suicide.
