Shifting genres and flipping hip-hop upside down in the process, buzzing Delaware rapper Lil West releases his anxiously awaited debut EP, “Vex Part 1.”
The seven-track collection remains powered by his airy melodic hooks, slick percussion, and lyrical fire as hinted at on the recently released “No L’s” [feat. Yung Bans].
The opener “2Pennies” [feat. Tommy Genesis] unites two bold voices on boundary-breaking production highlighted by deep bass and hypnotic delivery.
Elsewhere, “Help” cries out with raw emotion as “Born” illuminates his range over inventive guitar lines.
Not to mention, the project also boasts “Not Sure,” which is closing in on 500K Spotify streams, and “Somedays”— the undeniable hit that kicked off Lil West’s rise to popularity.
